Jade er fellesnavn for JADEITT og NEFRITT
Det var først i l863 man oppdaget at jade i virkeligheten var to ulike mineraler, nemlig JADEITT og NEFRITT. De to mineralene har mye felles; utseende, fiberstruktur og nesten samme hårdhet, egenskaper som har gjort dem velegnet til både våpen, smykker og andre bruksgjenstander.
Jade skal kunne forebygge og helbrede urinveis- og nyre-plager, og også beskytte gravide og lette deres forløsning.
JADEITT
…er mest kostbar, særlig den gjennomsiktige smaragdgrønne som kalles imperial jade. Vanligvis er jadeitt lys grønn - gjennomskinnelig til ugjennomsiktig, men finnes også i en rekke farge
