It was named after the U.S. mineral collector J.P. Morgan. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8. The best deposits are found primarily in Brazil, and in California.  Mystic Lore: Intuitive sources say Morganite can activate and balance the energies of the heart, facilitating awareness of Divine love and enhancing one's ability to love oneself and others. It is also said to attract love into one's life. It is recommended for healing the emotions and releasing past trauma.
