Seiun Jinkoh Aloeswood Incense (160 Sticks) Japansk Røkelse

Seiun Jinkoh Aloeswood incense is a special form of richly scented blended Japanese incense made by Nippon Kodo.

Aloeswood is often referred to be by various names, including jinkoh and agarwood. Jinkoh translates into English as, “sinking wood,” which is highly appropriate as this fragrant wood is renowned as sinking in water, rather than floating.

The Japanese have a grading system for aloeswood, with one part of it based on the flavour, or scent, of different aloeswood. There are five key flavours – sweet, sour, hot, butter and salty. The Seiun Jinkoh Aloeswood incense is graded as sweet and you’ll notice distinct notes of honey sweetness mixed in with a rich and earthy aroma as you burn the sticks. It’s a complex blend of aromas and an interesting combination to fragrance your home or workplace.

Seiun Incense

Seiun is a type of Japanese incense made by Nippon Kodo. It’s one of their top brands of incense and the aromatic scents are designed to be, “an inspiration to greatness.”

The incense fragrances reflect this aim, with some very calming scents that are ideal for having on in the background whilst engaging in contemplative meditation, and other more refreshing aromas that could help clear a foggy head and encourage greater clarity. The design on the packaging features an image of, “The Blue Cloud” over Mount Fuji – a Japanese symbol of a bright future.

Seiun incense is made using a higher amount of charcoal, which means that it burns at a hotter temperature and produces far less smoke.

More About Nippon Kodo Incense
The Japanese incense company, Nippon Kodo, was founded over four centuries ago and originally began by producing high quality incense for the Emperor of Japan. The company has continued to thrive ever since, now accounting for more than 50% of the entire incense industry in Japan. The company have a great philosophy about the importance of celebrating incense and recognise that, although many people simply love the ability of incense to fragrance a room, for others, their use comes down to spiritual and religious traditions. In fact, Nippon Kodo say that, through the production of their traditional Japanese incense they aim to, ‘cherish the ancient traditions and values’. The ingredients of Nippon Kodo incense are all high quality and are sourced from around the world. Experts help locate and harvest the rare aromatic woods, natural gums, resins and other ingredients used to make their incense. Once acquired, the ingredients are processed by hand, and by machine, in their eight factories in Japan and Hong Kong.

More About Japanese Incense
Japanese incense (speaking in general terms) is refined, pure, light smoke and rich in natural ingredients such as sandalwood. They don't usually have the thin wooden stick centre that is often found in Indian and other incense sticks. They are normally pure incense right the way through the stick. They are often designed with meditation in mind. Due to the high quality manufacturing processes the incense goes through they can be a little bit more expensive than other incense on the market.
