Tokusen (Premium) Shibayama Incense (380 Sticks) Japansk Røkelse

Tokusen Shibayama incense is a premium form of Japanese incense made by Nippon Kodo.

Translated into English, the word Tokusen means, ‘excellent, high quality,’ and Shibayama means, ‘the mountain meadows.’ Not surprisingly, this incense is a high-quality incense that has the subtle floral-woody aroma of mountain meadows.

It’s not your standard floral-woody scent though - Tokusen Shibayama incense has an interesting hint of spice to it that creates a distinctive, extra special aroma. It’s made from natural ingredients such as aloeswood, tuberose and cinnamon to create this intriguing combination.

Like other premium Japanese incenses, Tokusen Shibayama is made with a bamboo-free core to reduce the amount of smoke produced and provide a cleaner burning experience. The 380 stick pack comes rolled, with beautiful Japanese style artwork on the packaging.

Premium Quality Nippon Kodo Incense

The Premium Quality category features Japanese incense products made by Nippon Kodo that are regarded as top or premium quality.

Japanese incense products are classified as Premium Quality when the fragrance, ingredients or packaging are a much higher quality than standard versions. In fact, with some ranges you’ll find that there are both standard and premium choices available, so you can decide on the most appropriate option for your needs.

Some premium quality products are presented in larger boxes and in superior quality packaging, such as paulownia wood boxes, than incense that comes in cardboard or paper packets.

In the case of the premium Hana no Hana incense range, the fragrance in the premium options are carefully produced to be much deeper and richer than the standard option.

More About Nippon Kodo Incense
The Japanese incense company, Nippon Kodo, was founded over four centuries ago and originally began by producing high quality incense for the Emperor of Japan. The company has continued to thrive ever since, now accounting for more than 50% of the entire incense industry in Japan. The company have a great philosophy about the importance of celebrating incense and recognise that, although many people simply love the ability of incense to fragrance a room, for others, their use comes down to spiritual and religious traditions. In fact, Nippon Kodo say that, through the production of their traditional Japanese incense they aim to, ‘cherish the ancient traditions and values’. The ingredients of Nippon Kodo incense are all high quality and are sourced from around the world. Experts help locate and harvest the rare aromatic woods, natural gums, resins and other ingredients used to make their incense. Once acquired, the ingredients are processed by hand, and by machine, in their eight factories in Japan and Hong Kong.

More About Japanese Incense
Japanese incense (speaking in general terms) is refined, pure, light smoke and rich in natural ingredients such as sandalwood. They don't usually have the thin wooden stick centre that is often found in Indian and other incense sticks. They are normally pure incense right the way through the stick. They are often designed with meditation in mind. Due to the high quality manufacturing processes the incense goes through they can be a little bit more expensive than other incense on the market.
