When 2002 releases a new album, you can always be assured that an enchanting experience awaits. And TRAIL OF DREAMS, their new album for 2014, is filled with plenty of sonic pixie dust to delight the senses. The band's trademarks are here in spades - smooth, fluid synthesizer backdrops, strumming harp, the serene sound of guitar and piano… all accented with shimmering keyboard effects to imply an otherworldly journey to a place of fantasy. TRAIL OF DREAMS has one secret ingredient that elevates the sound even higher than previous albums, the sweet, pitch-perfect vocals of their Pamela and Randy Copus' daughter Sarah, whose soft, angelic vocals sound well beyond her young age and fit the imaginative arrangements perfectly. All the pieces come together to present an album that is high in whimsy and full of relaxing atmosphere.
