Palo Santo is the ;holy wood of South America, comparable to sandalwood in India. Because it is extremely rich in essential oil, it smells very intense. It grows mainly in Peru. The Peruvians believe that their Palo Santo has strong powers, but it also thrives on very barren soils. It smells wonderfully sweet, warm and aromatic with a hint of coconut. In the ancient Andes, Palo Santo was a major part of the ritual, religious and magical festivals. It has the power to drive away negative energies and lead our meditation into the depths. It calms the flow of thoughts, helps us dissolve anger, relaxes us and opens us for spiritual moments.
When you have acquired a specially designed back flow incense burner, it’s time to choose one (or two or three) of Goloka's delicious scented backflow incense.
These are incense cones that, unlike normal incense cones, are hollow inside. This causes the smoke to 'fall', instead of rise. The effect is that of a waterfall of bright white smoke.
You have to place the cone upright with the tip pointing upwards, so that it burns from top to bottom and the smoke can flow down from the hollow inside.

These incense cones can be used along with a backflow burner to create impressive smoke flow displays. Goloka have been creating quality incense for over 16 years and part of their proceeds are given to charitable causes that help to provide meals for underpriviledged children and providing vocational training and scholarships. Please note that it is normal for backflow cones to take up to 10 minutes to create a smoking/mist effect when used with a backflow burner.
After burning backflow cones it is normal for a light oily residue to appear on the oil burner, for this reason we recommend protecting any furniture it is placed upon suitably. The residue can be easily wiped off the burner with a damp cloth. Please exercise caution when burning incense.
